Novel Biological Molecules at Work
Senior Staff
Mrs. Orly Devary, co-Founder and Interim CEO
Mrs. Devary earned her MSc in Microbiology at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem where she studied signal transduction pathways in the lab of Prof. Schelinger. She went on to do further graduate work identifying and cloning steroid transcription factors in the lab of Prof Rosenfeld at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). In 2005, Mrs. Devary identified, cloned and characterized the biological activity of a novel peptide, Nerofe, which has strong anti-Cancer and anti-inflammatory properties and is being developed and commercialized by Immune System Key Ltd. Mrs. Devary is the author of six scientific articles, including four published in Cell.
Dr. Tamara Sandler, co-Founder and Chief Scientist
Dr. Tamara Sandler earned PhD at the USSR Academy of Sciences Institute of Virology in Moscow. Prior to her doctoral work, she was a research scientist at the F.V. Kurchatov Institute of Atomic Energy at the USSR Academy of Science. After earneing her PhD in 1972 until immigrating to Israel in 1991, Dr. Sandler was a senior scientist at the L.A. Tarassovitch State Research Institute for Standardization and Control of Medical Biological Preparations, Moscow. From 1995 to 2002, Dr. Sandler served as a researcher at the Jerusalem College of Technology. She is the author of 25 scientific articles and is a World Health Organization (WHO) certified specialist in microbiology.
Dr. Lola Weiss, Senior Researcher
Dr. Lola Weiss earned her PhD in Immunology at the Hebrew University. From 1978 she served as senior researcher at the Department of Bone Marrow Transplantation & Cancer. Immunobiology Research Laboratory, Hadassah University Hospital, Jerusalem. Dr. Lola Weiss is a recongnised spescialist in animal models for bone marrow transplantation (BMT), for minimal residual leukemia, for treatment of autoimmune diseases by immunomodulatory drugs, for immunotherapy of malignant and nonmalignant diseases and for diabetes mellitus in diabetic mice . She published more than 100 scientific articles in prestigious scientific journals.
Board of Directors
Dr. Yoram Devary, Chairman
Dr. Devary is an expert in the molecular mechanisms by which physical and chemical agents transform cells and has published groundbreaking findings relating to the cause of cancer. He serves as a scientific advisory to BI Solutions, an early-stage bioinformatics company. Dr. Devary holds a Ph.D. degree in Biotechnology from the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). Dr Devary published several papers in distinguished journal such as Cell and Science.
Prof. Uziel Sandler, Director
Professor Uziel Sandler is one of the founders of the advanced discipline called Fuzzy Dynamics, which describes evolution of complex systems with uncertainty in their dynamics laws. Fuzzy Dynamics has been successfully applied to modeling of immune system cells maturation and neural cells behavior. Uziel Sandler is also an expert in DNA and Macromolecular Dynamics and Evolutionary Computations. He has published more than 80 academic articles in prestigious scientific journals and three books among which Neural Cell Behavior and Fuzzy Logic, Springer, NY, 2008. Prof. Sandler has served as chair in international conferences and as a member in several worldwide committees in the above-mentioned fields. Prof. Sandler holds a Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics from L.V. Kirensky Institute of Physics, Academy of Science, of the former USSR.
